Work Ethic and Music
A while ago I purchased an audio book Six-Figure Musician. I remember it sounding a lot like all the personal development/self help books I had read.
I read many personal development books all the time. As I’m typing this I’m in the middle of listening to Give and Take by Adam Grant. I have a fascination with learning and growing!
For those wanting to be a great musician, curiosity and persistence will get you to a great level of understanding piano/music, but you don’t need it to take as long as it took me.
I basically had no work ethic. I had no idea of what work ethic was when I started. This lead to soon many repeated lessons, literally using paid lesson time as practice, getting chewed out by my piano teacher, and of course the frustration of having your parents repeatedly pay for lessons when you’re not practicing.
It doesn’t have to be this way for you. Turn up the volume on your work ethic and you could be the best….faster!
